As anglers we always looking for secrets that will help us catch more fish, right? N this article I'm going to reveal some incredible fishing secrets that have been learned through more than fifty years of combined fishing experience. These secrets are simple, yet incredibly effective and will help anyone enjoy more success the next time they get the opportunity to wet a line. We must all keep in mind that fishing isn't rocket science, and many times the simplest things are the most effective.

Many times we anglers tend to over complicate things, and make fishing more difficult than it needs to be. As I said, these secrets are 'real world' tips that are simple, yet quite effective. The reverend Mclean in the movie A River Runs Through It said, "anyone who doesn't know how to catch a fish, should not be able to disgrace a fish by catching it". I personally couldn't agree more, and the secrets outlined in this article will help you avoid disgracing any fish, which is a good thing.
Let's get down to business, shall we?

  • Pay Attention To Your Hands - This secret is very simple, yet incredibly effective. Any unnatural scents that are present on your hands (such as gasoline residue or smoke) will transfer to your bait or lure and cost you bites. I've tested this theory myself when trout fishing, and it's very true. A good practice is to grab a handful of grass or dirt and rub it into your hands before baiting up. This will eliminate any unnatural odors that might be present.
  • Be Efficient - This secret certainly goes for any angler, but is especially true to the angler who likes to fish while wading. When we're wading we need to be as efficient as possible and have our necessary items within easy reach at all times. This is why wearing a fishing vest to carry all of our bait, lures, flies, hemostats, etc. is so important. Employing an item such as a bait bag for carrying live worms is always a great idea and a secret that will save you a ton of time. With a bait bag your live worms are always literally at your fingertips when you need to bait up. Being efficient is of the utmost importance to any angler, and especially for those of us who like to wade.
  • Pay Attention To Mother Nature - Mother Nature plays a very big role in the behavior of fish and the better you understand this phenomenon the better. When I refer to 'Mother Nature', I'm referring specifically to the weather and moon. These two forces of Mother Nature have as much to do with you catching fish as the type of bait or lure you choose to use. This is why learning how the weather and moon impact fishing is so important to all of us as anglers. Start planning your fishing trips around one or both of these factors and you will start catching more fish; it's as simple as that. This might be the most important secret to help nay angler catch more fish.

These simple, yet effective fishing secrets will help any angler catch more fish. Begin using one or all of them sooner, rather than later and you can find out for yourself. Hey if they work for me (which they do), they will work for anyone.
