This is a 3.3 Horsepower Mariner Outboard Motor. I got it from a man in his 70's who said he bought it new many years ago. He said it set up for many years. He told me that about 2 months ago he started to clean it up since it had been sitting up for so long. When h he began taking it apart, he realized he had bit off more than he could chew. He began to doubt his ability to put it back together. So, he put all of the parts he had taken off and put them in a box. He put all screws and small things in the jar in the picture. He told me that if he had been able to put it back together, he would probably never use it anyway. I told him there are a lot of people who can put this motor back together and he said, "Let them do it"! The motor is clean and has no rust on it. It does not appear to have been in salt water.
