Renting Equipment on Vacation

A few times when we've been on vacation in the south, we've rented paddle boats or kayaks for a half hour, as modest as that is.

We've never gotten into the more involved things like being towed behind a boat, either in the "kite rig" or on one of those inflated tubes.

Has anybody here enjoyed these beach activities?
