Default Fishing advice?

I'm new to Florida, and nothing I try seems to work on the fish. I'm from New Jersey, and did pretty well there on stripers and blues and fluke, but here I can't seem to hook up anything but junk. Any suggestions?

Try wading using a DOA shrimp about 12-18 inches under a popping cork. Fish in about 2-3 ft of water over good grass, any deeper and the ladyfish get ya!
Good way to pick up trout and reds

Talking I have always had

good luck with skitter walks pink bring trout and redfish or a spook. I'm kind of partial to top water, I fish them dusk to dawn, Yea jigs work and you will work harder with top water but there is nothing like a trout, red, or snook smacking lure walking across the water

Good luck

I had some luck fishing largemouth bass down there using jerkworms, right near some underwater plants. They've always come at it fast, and if you get your timing down, and give a good tug as they hit it, it's pretty easy to get them hooked on the line really well.

I don't fish that often, and it took me a bit of time to get the feel and the timing down for that, but once I did it opened up a whole new world for me down there. Very satisfied with the results.

Bass fishing is great down there, if you are interested in trying that here are a few suggestions. Try Yamamoto Senko soft plastic, or Arbogast jitterbug for large mouth. For Small mouth try Mepps Agila or the Yamamoto Senko.
