Sarasota fishing report 1/29/08
| The fishing has been very good the last few days as the water temperature rose to the mid 60s and we had a front approaching. The rocks on the north end of Siesta Key provided sheepshead to 4 pounds and mangrove snapper to 12" on live shrimp fished on the bottom. Further south, the flats on the east side from CBs Saltwater Outfitter to Midnight Pass along with the deep water in the channel in the Neville Preserve provided non-stop action on ladyfish, speckled trout to 18" and pompano to 2 pounds on Cotee jigs with either a gold or rootbeer/gold grub. Jack crevelle to 8 pounds hit a Yozuri Crystal Minnow plug up in Phillippi Creek near the high school. |
