Unhappy I Think It's Time to Quit Fishing!

The other morning I got up early, dressed quietly, made my lunch, and slipped quietly into the garage to hook the boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential down pour. The wind was blowing 50 mph. I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad throughout the day.

I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into
bed. There I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'

My loving wife of 20 years. replied, 'Can you believe my stupid husband Is out fishing in that weather?'

I still don't know if she was joking, but I have quit fishing.

Your wife should not criticize you like that. It’s not your fault that you were about to fish and then came back inside only to find out from the news that the weather would be bad at that time.

I believe that I've heard of your situation before, justnealandbob, but my respects go out to you.

It reminds me of people going fishing to be alone - There's the image of someone shivering in an ice fishing shack thinking "She's not here!" - And of course I realize that could work for either gender.

Your story is just too funny...lol. My dad would say you are not a dedicated fisherman if you gave up just because of a little weather. That man could fish in a freaking hurricane. He tells me I'm not a real fisherman because I won't go ice fishing.

Oh snap that was a dig from her to you. Who knows though maybe she could have been seeing someone else and when you quit fishing you ruined it for her. You enjoyed being away from her doing what she loved and maybe she was loving on someone else. You were both getting what you wanted out of the situation so why stop fishing?

Hey, don't give up on fishing! If the weather does not allow you to get out, why not play Catch A Boat - The Ultimate Online Fishing Tournament. There are only a few weeks left, but you could win a new Sylvan boat with an Evinrude E-TEC engine and a trailer. Even when the weather is bad, why not get out there and "fish" online.

Check it out!
